The course is aimed at individuals and organisations working with or wishing to work with wheelchair users in an active recreation setting. The course covers background and theory aspects relating to wheelchair users and to disability awareness, and also includes a hands on practical element using a variety of wheelchairs. The course looks at types of wheelchair, specific sports, inclusion and access issues, adaptations for sport, and equipment. The course can be delivered from Primary schools through to Sport professionals and is tailored accordingly.
This course is a mixture of practical and theory but weighted towards the practical element, and will give participants the opportunity to experience Sports and Active User Wheelchairs.
